Ko Tao

We missed our flight to Chumphon, which was the only one that day. So after searching options we ended up flying with air Asia to Surat Thani, then getting a 2 hour coach and 3 hour ferry to Ko Tao. We finally arrived at 7pm. Taxi cost 200thb to Asia Resort. We were paying £12 a night for 2 people. The room was the cleanest so far and quite modern however the shower was only cold water. The pool looked good too. For dinner we ate at boba sushi, paying 200thb for a set meal of onion rings, noodles, a chicken dish and a Coke. It was food overload. We ended up eating here regularly.
First day in Ko Tao we mainly spent laying on be beach but booked 2 dives for tomorrow with Siem Divers for 1600thb. In the afternoon we joined ko tao gym it cost 1400thb for 2 of us for 5 days. We tried to walk up the hill to the east coast… don’t attempt this, it’s not possible!! With a 5:45am meet time we first dived chumphon pinnacle. The amount of fish was insane we went down to 28 metres. Then we did the junkyard which was an artificial reef. It was a bit of a poor dive however we did make friends with a resident puffer fish who followed us most of the way round. We had dinner at kit Kat restaurant who did 2 for 1 pizza it was epic and made there costing 220thb for 2 pizzas.
The next day we hired a moped for 200thb for a day with fuel from sunset motors it was in great condition. First we rode down to the John Suwan viewpoint, you have to pay 50thb for the road and 50thb for the view point per person. The view was amazing of both sides of the coast. However it was a 500m walk… more of a rock climb. Very challenging. Then we drove to tanote bay. The beach was really good and the sea so clear. You could hire a snorkel and mask for 50thb. It was insane, like jumping into an aquarium such a variety of fish.
For dinner we ate at coffee boat restaurant they had an extensive menu and the food was excellent it cost £1.80 for chicken and noodles.
The next day we went on the oxygen snorkelling tour, it stopped at 5 bays for 500thb including lunch and transfers. There were many fish in each one and the final one was nang guan which was 100thb entry it was really cool with a sand bar in the middle. Food and drink was expensive!! A magnum ice cream nearly £3!!!
On the last day we went to Ko Tao adventure park crazy golf. It cost 160thb, the course was good and had a “crazy” feature where you would have to play different rules.
Outside food and drink was not allowed. The following morning we caught our 09:30am ferry to Koh Phangan. Ko tao had been amazing. A totally chill out place where it’s pretty much just sun and sea.
