Krabi

We got to Ao Nang, Krabi from phi phi islands taking just over 1.5 hours by boat. There was a free transfer included. We chose to stay at Ao Nang cliff view resort. It was very remote and basic. The pool was in need of some maintenance.
There was an hourly free shuttle to the main centre.
The next day we did a trip to James Bond island. It was a full day tour however most of which was spent on a mini bus with a 2 hour transfer each way. James Bond island was a cool site to see however it was at capacity when it comes to tourists. On the way back we stopped at a monkey temple and waterfall which was a mere trickle.
On our last day we visited Railay beach. Paying 200thb return on a taxi boat. We spent most of the day on Penang beach which was a lot nicer with clear sea. There was a view point which involved a rock climb and tough terrain. In the evening we went to Krabi night market. There were many food options it was around 1/5 of the size of the one in Chiang Mai.
Ao nang had a western feel to it in the way that walking down the street there was constant hassle to get you into the restaurant. It was the first time in Thailand in 6 weeks we had felt this. It was impossible to look at a menu without being hounded. Prices were about the same as Phuket however 7/11 was the same price as Bangkok. The airport was a 30 minute drive away. The airport was probably the worst one I’ve been in. Very limited food. A bottle of water costing £1 which was 5 times higher than the rest of Thailand and the toilets were filthy.
