Kuala Lumpur

We landed in Kuala Lumpur at 11am from Krabi then got the train to the city centre. It cost around £7 we realised after that using grab or uber would have cost the same.
Staying at d’majestic hotel near pedu it cost £97 for 3 nights. The hotel room was of a very high standard it also had a rooftop pool with a view of the twin towers. However it was let down by outside noise and no bar or option to by drinks.
We went up the kl tower on the first evening buying our ticket from klook.com which offered great discounts. The skydeck was a must as it was outside. The view was epic.
We chose to eat in Nando’s twice during the trip as it was half the price of the uk and they offered table service.
The next day we got a taxi to the batu caves around 11km from the city centre. Entrance was free and you were greeted by an impressive gold statue. There were many steps to the top. We did a tour of the dark cave which cost around £7 and lasted 45 minutes. The cave was fascinating home to a lot of unique wildlife including 200,000 bats. After we went to the national mosque which could hold 3,000 people for prayer.
Following day we checked out the planetarium. The admission was free however you had to pay for the shows. Then we walked to central market and China town. Both were full of many fake designer goods. With my trainers being battered for the last 8 weeks I picked up a black pair of Nike trainers for £10.
In the evening we went to the skybar. It had a perfect view of the petronas towers which we chose not to go up during the trip as the kl tower had the city view. A Long Island ice tea cost £8 it was on the 33rd floor.
Kuala Lumpur was one of my favourite cities in the world. It had a great feel to it with a blend of Asian and European vibes. Prices were great for food and the transport links and taxis made every part of the city accessible.
