Malta was just over a 3 hour flight from the UK. The airport was small and effecient. Buses took us to our resort Melliaha in just under an hour. We stayed at the Pergola hotel. Facilities were good in the room and it had indoor and out door pools. Getting around Malta buses run regularly and cost 1.50€ for a 2 hour ticket. Malta is very hilly, we visited Valetta and Mdina in the same day, both were nice cities with good views. Most bars a bottle of wine from Malta would set you back around 10€. Popeye village is good for an afternoon costing 10.50€ includes a boat trip, free shows, glass of wine and mini golf. We also visited Gozo the ferry costs 4.50€ for a return and takes around 25mins. The buses are owned by the same company so a 2 hour ticket can be used on arrival. The main town Victoria was pleasent to walk around. The main attraction the azul window unfortunatly became a victim to sea errosion in 2017.
Malta is a good place for a short break for me though it was slightly too British with many expats. All of the bus drivers and alot of hotel workers we met had moved from the UK.
